TIGNES VAL D'ISERE SKI AREA
The Tignes and Val D’Isere ski area provides exceptional terrain for all standards of skier and snowboarder. Thanks to its high altitude, the ski area has a superb snow record, its season beginning in November and lasting until May. The Grande Motte Glacier gives Tignes the status of a snow sure resort.
BEGINNERS
Beginners are well provided for in Tignes. There are free ski lifts for beginners on the beginner slopes in Tignes Les Brevieres, Tignes 1800, Tignes Le Lavachet and Tignes Le Lac. There is a gentle blue run which winds from Tignes 1800 to Tignes Les Brevieres. From the Aguille Rouge chairlift there is a choice of 2 blue runs (Rhododendron and Petit Col) Once the basics have been mastered, both Tignes and the 'Ski Tranquil' area between Tignes and Val D'Isere has plenty of wide and gentle confidence building green and blue slopes ideal for improving your new skills. The well linked network of easy slopes quickly allows beginners to explore this vast system.
INTERMEDIATES
Intermediates are spoilt for choice by the 300km of immaculately groomed pistes which provides some of the Alps’ best intermediate terrain. The number and variety of runs on offer, from wide cruising blues to the more challenging reds, make this area an intermediate’s paradise. In addition to the marked pistes there is a huge amount of easily accessible off piste available, offering plenty of opportunity for adventure.
ADVANCED
The ski area has an unrivalled range of terrain for advanced skiers. La Sache, at 10km, is the area’s longest run, an exhilarating black that descends from ‘the eye of the needle’ through a spectacular valley to Tignes Les Brevieres. Test your skill on the awesome Face, the steep black descent from Bellevarde into Val D’Isere. In addition to the marked runs, Tignes gives access to some of the most extensive and challenging off piste skiing in the world.
TIGNES VAL D'ISERE SKI AREA: SNOWBOARDING
Without doubt the Tignes & Val D'Isere ski area is one of the best playgrounds for snowboarding anywhere in Europe. The riding is simply superb both on and off piste. There are two well maintained snowboard parks with a full range of kickers, rails and boxes to suit all abilities of freestyle rider, with greens, blues, reds and blacks.

It is very possible for an intermediate skier to ski from the far right of the system to the far left and back in a day, such is the efficiency of the lift network and well signed pistes. Tignes Les Brevieres has a great position in the trees in what we think is the most beautiful part of the ski area.
