I’m writing this review with a broken arm sustained after only four days of brilliant skiing, while the rest of my friends and family are still enjoying Tignes’ fabulously wide open and snow laden slopes. And I can tell you that if you do suffer a similar mishap while here, then there’s no better place to console yourself in absolute relaxation and comfort! And it’s pretty good for skiers, too!
Chalet Arabette is everything you’d want in a skiing chalet: beautifully furnished, a warm and welcoming fireplace, plenty of space and sofas to spread out on, a large balcony with a spacious ‘hot tub with a view’, and lovely beds to sink into after an enjoyably exhausting day on the mountain.
Lorraine and Serafin, who look after us on an almost unbelievable scale, are simply brilliant hosts. From the moment we wake up to a reviving and nourishing breakfast, to us collapsing in front of the fire after another astonishing gourmet dinner, they simply can’t be bettered. If I ever eat as well as this for a week again, I’ll either be married into royalty or up there in heaven…!
Jamie, who managed our booking and greeted us on arrival, couldn’t have been more helpful or accommodating, was the very model of excellent professional service. He was in regular and prompt contact with us, answered all our questions, and arranged a massive discount for our ski hire from the fabulous Tignes Spirit, who delivered our equipment to the chalet! He certainly laid the foundations for a fabulous holiday.
Conveniently located a few minutes walk from the Les Brevieres gondola, which lifts you very quickly into the heart of L’Espace Killy’s extensive skiing region, and the tiny town’s cosy bars and restaurants, and a very handy and well stocked supermarket, the chalet is a brilliant base for skiers.
And the best place to recuperate and reflect with a glass of something warm and reviving…!
